The problem with a meritocracy is that although you may be the best qualified to answer a question you may still give a terrible answer due to self-interest etc.

Adam, if my you can't see the parallel between displaying age and displaying race, then you are more racist than you are ageist.

Honestly I don't care how old a person giving me advice is, age carries no import. All that is important is, is it good advice?

The gist of this thread is should we display an irrelevant fact about members that can only be utilised for prejudice? I say no.
