You are advocating the central improv principle of "Yes, and ..."
"Yes, and ..." it demonstrates creativity and ingenuity and it makes stuff happen because you are resourceful.
"No, and ..." can be pretty powerful too. Jynx is master of this. When he's told that he's not muscley or funny or whatever he goes so extremely over-the-top in his defence of himself (whipping his shirt off, shouting "FUCK YOU! I am the funniest human who ever lived, yeah, right, watch this ..." followed by some dangerous madness) it's hillarious authentically Jynx and people love it. You need a certain energy to pull off "No, and ...", "Yes, and ...", on the other hand, works in nearly all styles.
It's all about and's not but's (eh Tom?).
