Hey Summer Junky,

It's not luck. We made it happen. If you Bristolians want a piece of that, you need to make it happen. If someone in another area does want to get something similar started, I'll gladly give them all the support they need.

I like the 'expert' game Sinstyle is talking about, you just make shit up about the object, it's history, the process of manufacture etc. It's fun and can be played on your own. There are a few other games you can play on your own for additional practice.

To Dolphin's original point: I agree story tag is one of the most relevant games for PU / SA. There were a couple of people this last week who kept tagging people out and only following up with 10 words of story, then stopping their story and begging to be tagged out. I really think that these are the moments when people should not be tagged out.

Another great game that has a lot of relevancy to PU / SA is Story-Story-Die, which I don't think we've played since you started coming along Dolphin.

This is where someone provides the name of a famous person and an everyday object and we have to make up a story about the person and the object. One of us mimes holding a gun. Whoever has the gun pointed at them must tell the story. When the gun is pointed at another player they must pick up the story exactly where the other person left off with no pausing, repetition or deviation or you will be 'shot' and die. In this game there tends to be periods where you will be forced to continue for longer as the player with the gun will sometimes stay pointed at one player for extended periods to see if they run out of story,

I'm thinking we can combine the two games so that you must riff off the other player's chat but while still talking about stuff that is real rather than a made up story. I'll have a wee think about the possibilities for next time.

Also, now that the weekend Improv course that some of us attend is back, we will be exposed to a lot of new games which we will be throwing into the mix for the Thursday sessions.

As for help, so far it's not been so big a strain for me and I enjoy it enough myself to make it worth what effort it does take.

However, something I'd like to do over the next week is set up a Facebook group that I'd like you all to invite your friends to join. When this is set up, for people you think would be good at this or who would get a lot out of it, please add a personalised message to your invite explaining why you think they should join / attend.

On the back of this I'd like to get a few flyers made up. 100 should do. To hand out to the guys who come to the Saturday classes to get some of them along too. So to the designers and arty types amongst us: i'd really appreciate if you'd offer up some basic layouts, logos etc.

The idea is to make the group a little more diverse by including more people who are not from the community and make it less of a testosterone pit by getting a few girlies along.

There have only been a couple of guys bring non-community people along and it makes me wonder where all the PUs are at! Where are all the girls in your lives? Bring them. I've brought a few and they've loved it. Those looking for an interesting, exciting and different activity for a date - this is one such event.

Peace,

kowalski
