Meh. If the video didn't come across as trying to offend my intelligence I may have read the book but I don't think I really want to after sitting thru that bull shit. Anyway I really dissagree with paying for it and if you really want to see what its about then look here MEGAVIDEO - I'm watching it I don't promote piracy because its a crime but them making you pay for that stuff is as much of a crime to me.

Has some slightly good concept to it but it can be summed up by think positive and you will get what you want in life. eventually (not the way the movie shows it where you think about a bike then wow you have a bike lmao).

Its certainly not the magic pill it claims to be but has a good motive.

Much Love

I believe there is something too this, the secret is kinda glamourized so it will sell a lot of copys but if anyone is interested in this stuff just look into noetic science its pretty much the next step on from quantum physics and trys to prove or disprove any theories relating to the mind and its affect on ones surroundings

Very bold claims, noetic science doesn't seem very scientific to me more like “New Age” repackaged.
Quantum physics has tangible results I don't see much peer review or scientific method in noetic science.

i have 100 percent belief in the secret and what it teaches
they teach the exact same concept as almost all religions
which is ask and you will recieve
the secret is just a unglamorfied version of alot of other religious teaching which have often been misinterpreted by the metaphors that blanket them

just like flicksters quote

Every one has a valid point on this, this is uncharted territory (at least in our age) and unless we explore new seas we will not find new lands.
Im quite a spiritual person incase you haven't allready guessed lol

peace

Not everyone has a valid point. A valid point is one where the conclusion necessarily follows from the premises.

I don't agree this is uncharted territory. There have been a significant numer of studies and experiments into this sort of thing and I know of no submissible evidence that supports such beliefs.

I don't see the significance of 'our age' in this either, except that it is significant because it is present.

The onus of proof is on the believers.

Thats another valid point as in you have a point of view that just like many sciences and theorys can neither fully disprove or fully prove that this stuff is real, it is simply another point of veiw from your own perception....it's up to the person who has that veiw to choose if it is valid or not it's also up to the reader of that veiw to choose likewise, I choose to see it as valid as in opposing theories just like apposing forces can work in a common denominator just like matter and antimatter, born from the same energy source but behave in different patterns from oneanother but can not exsist alone.

everything is valid

No it isn't. Validity of argument is defined as one where the conclusion necessarily follows from the premises.

You can't just start redefining words to mean whatever you want them to.

Language is public as are the definitions of terms.

You can choose to believe whatever you want, it doesn't make it true, it doesn't make it valid and it doesn't make it acceptable.

As stated in my previous post: the onus of proof is on the believers.

If everything is valid then all debate, advice, logic, reason ends. You need some kind of structure to explain things (provided by the scientific method) or me saying "apple monkey banana jizz bitch" is a valid response to your post or me just mashing on a keyboard is too.

Granted it's up to the individual to choose a point of view but it doesn't mean I have to agree and accept it.

I can't see how they work together at all. With our current understanding of science they don't fit together, you may say "ah but that's our current understanding!" but noetics hasn't proved anything there are no tangible results it's just a random theory with as much validity as any other random unprovable theory in the world like scientology or david icke's lizard men.

Science can exist with out noetics so I don't see how your antimatter analogy works, people didn't discover noetics and come to the conclusion that this explains how science works. Science is a method, a way of thought and reason, it doesn't need a positron from noetics to exist it is not a physical entity.

You should have a look at James Randi Educational Foundation
he offers a million dollar prize to people to prove psychics, paranormal activity etc but no-ones claimed it.

You might wonder why i'm against spirituality and new age concepts, well first I don't think the core beliefs are true (some of the teachings are though) I think this kind of thing can be pretty dangerous in certain circumstances, for example homeopathic treatments for Aids and malaria.
