With all the talk on the forum lately about direct game, I thought last night would be a good time to give it a try. I have been using opinion openers for a while and getting nowhere fast to be honest, struggling to build attraction.

So I did about three opinion openers to get warmed up and they were all to no avail. Then went in to try a direct approach, saw a HB8 on the dance floor, opened with 'I would like to take you on a date some time', got dancing a little, then she took me by the hand to somewhere quieter. I immediately said 'Where do you live?',
she replied 'Student Halls',
'Why dont we go there now'
'Ok'

And off we went to hers, took about five minutes from approach to leaving the club with her. I owe all that to this forum, and okay, probably Phil in particular.

Good stuff, on a similar vein, I have consciously tried being direct recently due to "all the talk on the forum lately about direct game"

At Ministry of Sound last weekend, I spied a hot chick at the bar, very slim and sporting a mad sexy cut-away back, tight black lycra top, I opened with "WOAH!" (gets attention in noisy club) then "you're totally smoking hot!" with eye contact and a smile. She reacted v enthusiastically, the whole directness thing / quirkiness of it got her attention and after that it was plain sailing.

So a second thanks to Phil's GO DIRECT movement... (have u trademarked Philism yet? )

In addition I think direct game is great for the dance floor as well. I have always struggled on the dance floor but I think the way forward is:

-Open with a cocky statement of interest
-Use plenty of kino from the start
-If you dont like dancing try to move the target to a quiet area

I was thinking about direct the other night [as all my posts tonight have mentioned...].
Thinking back to the times I've tried it, I'd say it works best when you've got some preselection [duh]. So as a rule I try to do 2 or so indirect sets in a venue before going direct. Also it's great if I can do something more exciting with the indirect sets to force the IOI on my target.

I figure as I get better at direct I'll need less indirects and manage to do it without.

I dont know if its to do with pre-selection so much as just getting warmed up. I think I would find it hard to go straight into doing direct openers without doing some indirect, lower risk openers first to get into 'state'.

But maybe it is a confidence thing, the direct stuff is pretty new to me so guess we will see.
