I don’t often post on FR because I find it takes too fucking long to type the thing and I don’t really think I have anything worth sharing that will help, I go out I get blown out a lot and I close or get numbers or both. I tend to forget most of the sets I fail on and only remember the one’s I succeed with.

I tend to recognise better other peoples field reports and think ‘yeh that happened to me and then post a response’, anyway enough of the waffle. This is a very early field report when I used to make loads of mistakes and my confidence wasn’t really where I wanted it to be, its also the strangest set I ever opened.

Last year when I’d only been gaming a few weeks, I used to do quite a bit of day gaming, but still found sets in clubs nerve wracking. I was in a bar and because of its location its usually full of legal types it was Friday night about 10pm so the drink was kicking in. There was 5 set of professional type women in there 30’s and 40’s and one who became my target, I hadn’t noticed them because the place was full of women in there 20’s and 30’s, but I was just really getting drunk with a friend, not out to game.

I went to the toilet and on my way back I caught the attention of two HB talking outside the ladies, the door was slightly open as one of the HB was on her way in and inside I caught glimpse of a woman adjusting her suspenders in a mirror. She had these plain black stockings with well serious sexy lace tops. How many women wear suspenders to work? I’m in my thirties and I’ve never known any girl wear them, ever, apart from the bedroom.

Over the next 20 minutes I made several passes of the group (what can say, I was still a bit of a chump), I decided she was 43 perky breasts, looked after herself and although she had a few wrinkles round the eyes very attractive and beautiful legs which I’d seen through the toilet door, she had a below the knee length skirt probably to hide any flashes of the suspenders. So what we have here is a woman who dresses sexy but wants to hide it. Well interested.

I’d heard them talking Law, so I opened with hey you’re lawyers right, told a joke about lawyers which went down like a led balloon, that got me sympathy from the oldest girl, not the best start but carried on, eventually got laughing with them, ignored the target, negged her a few times was just about to signal my friend so I could go for the target when she seemed to have taken one neg too many, whilst I was laughing with the older one I heard my target say, ‘who the hell do you think you are talking to me like that’.

I was new to this and this panicked me, thankfully not visibly, then she took it up a couple of notches ‘you come over here, bla, bla,
‘hey come on target one insult at a time, please’ then the older one starts defending me great now I’m getting more sympathy this couldn’t go any worse if I’d planned it. I’m getting stressed by this situation and verbal assault, she then insults my tie.

I notice she must have been out since about five her clothes are looking creased, hairs a bit ruffled, makeup is looking a bit ropey, so I say
‘well you look like a fucking scarecrow that’s let itself go’

I negged her because she got to me, (something that wouldn’t happen now) this could go so wrong I realised the woman I’d been talking to is now looking shocked, there is a definite pause while the target takes this in then she says’ so I’m a scarecrow now am I’ with a little smile.

I invited her to the bar before last orders to make it up to her, whilst we were queuing I say ‘you had me in suspenders there for a minute err I mean suspense’, she looks at me confused I then run my hand around her thigh and twang her suspender she goes as red as a tomato. I managed to k close her outside waiting for a taxi and I got her number but she asked to leave it a few weeks because she’s going through a divorce and its complicated.

I never rang her and apparently the sexy stockings/suspenders thing was because it gave her more confidence in court, strange I know but true.

Moral you’ll be amased what you can get away with, obviously avoid obscene insults (fat, ugly, slut) but if you do an over the top neg with a smile or humour, it can still work. I was lucky I think she took it as someone who could give her back the shit she was dishing out and that won her respect, if I’d called her a cunt the outcome would have been very different.

I'm aware some don't neg at all but natural game involves playful teasing so call it what you want a neg is a neg.

I remember one of the best negs a girl used on me was she called me jonny bravo. I thought it was funny I responded saying I'll take that as a compliment. this was b4 pick up so I think I did pretty good on that one.

Did the 'think of a number between 1 and 10' and guessed correctly with 7. She said "wow! how did you do that?!" I replied "what the hell are they teaching you in your psychology classes?!" - she is apparently studying psychology at degree level.
