some great things there for snacks, I like making Kale chips by baking kale. also bake/roast chickpeas and season makes them awesome!

Why citrus fruits specifically? I mean lemon zest is a great flavour but I find they are high in natural sugar (not amazing for blood sugar levels) and acidic hence why i've tended to steer clear.

I love to squeeze lime juice onto lots of food, I read it aids digestion and it makes my mouth water.

I like little orange family things like satsumas and tangerines because they are juicy.

I haven't added up how much sugar I'm consuming recently but I'd guess- not very much, certainly not enough to cause concern and pretty good sugar too. That list is everything that I am cooking from at the moment. I reckon with people who have blood sugar issues it is very very rarely caused by eating raw fruits in their natural form. I expect it is cakes and mars bars. I'm not a nutritionist, but I'm pretty sure that because my diet is heavily loaded with very low GL foods the occasional clementine is safe.

Don't let people convince you the odd mandarin is unhealthy, citrus fruit is safe.

My oven died, so no roasting unfortunately. I bet kale chips are nice ... could chuck all sorts of flavour in there.

Peace,

kowalski

Like Al_phaD i used to eat crap and had real energy level problems, so i dropped all my carbs and fizzy drinks which fixed my problem by following the slow-carb diet.

Tim Ferriss recommends dropping most fruit due to the sugar content. I did to begin with but now I have the odd pair, grapefruit throughout the week but tend to supplement with salad and vegetables so I'm still taking in the good stuff.

I'm not daft enough to believe dropping all fruit is a good idea but some fruit has a lot of natural sugars which personally I haven't found great for weight loss/control. I lost 8kg in 5 weeks with the slow-carb diet (with no fruit) and I didn't have any energy level issues.
