Default improve your life with me (at the gym) - 04-08-2010, 05:39 PM

I've been weight training now for around 7 weeks. I've put on 13lbs now so far and have been keeping a video diary.

YouTube - myweightgain's Channel

wondering if any else wants to join in -
train all week and then do a video update on the wednesday and put your goals for the next week, working towards one main goal. for me this is to gain a total of 21lbs.

also, it might help to keep me motivated.

so anyone man enough to join me?

Dude... you should be more specific at what you want
21lbs...of what? Fat? You could do that in a week!

dont be silly, I think the original post makes it clear what I mean.
I'm not suggesting a burger eating contest.

I'm lifting 4 times a week.
I'm expecting to put on some fat because my body fat was so low before but the weight I'm putting on is muscle. I've lost 3% body fat since starting.

(but my face has gotten more visibly round, haha)

I knew what you mean, I'm just saying you need to be specific...just eating a bit more food, will not get you your goals, I've been bodybuilding a few years now, and have learnt a lot from pro bodybuilders (old school) in America.

Do not just eat a ton of carbs, that will just make you fat!
Plenty of meat, eggs, whole milk etc

I was always into training but the last few months I let it go for some reason. I'm really getting back into it now though; starting weight two and a half weeks a go was 14st 5lbs with 25% bodyfat, now I'm 13st at 18% bodyfat. If I keep going I should be able to hit 12st at 12% bodyfat by mid september.

Whats your training routine like? Mines:- Monday - Bench Press, Incline Press, Dips and Tricep Press. Wednesday - Deadlift, Squats, Pull Ups and Curls. Friday - Barbell Row, Military Press, Shrugs and Lateral Raises. I run for half an hour everyday and box three times per week.

yeh! I'm using critical mass and nos blast when training. nos blast is the body fortress copy of noxplode. any one used both? I was thinking about getting some noxplode to compare.

and yeh, if anyones in cardiff and wants discounts on supplements drop me a PM and I can sort you out!

I'm training 4 times a week. Lifting heavy and working different muscle groups each day. doing 5 sets of 5 reps, as heavy as I can, maxing out on the 5th rep.
Just eating sensibly aswell, just thinking where the calories are in each meal and where I'm getting my protein and carbs.
I'm a vegetarian aswell, so quorn as my protein is low in fat aswell.

Its working anyway.

Im an ectomorph body type so im bulking up then gonna cut a bit, get my body fat lower.
I've gone from 10st 7 weeks ago, to 11st today.

anyone got any experience lowering body fat?
Not sure what the plan is yet, probably up my cardio alot, thermobol and lift a bit lighter 3x10.

I'm shattered so this post is a bit disconnected, might sort it out when I wake up tomorrow.

Dude, I've been a vegeterian for nearly 20 years, but its not the healthiest way of life, unless you make up for the lack of protein, I used to live on Quorn, but I've done a lot of research on nutrition the last few years, and its over processed rubbish

ps. low fat is also very unhealthy, we NEED fats in the diet, for enzyme production, vitamin assimilation, and millions of other things

As long as you get your EFA's in everyday you should be fine. I used to get advice online about diet and training, but I ended finding out what was right for me through researching and trying out different things.

When I was lean bulking I would only eat around 300g of protein, 200g of carbs and 70g of fat per day. That was plenty for me to gain muscle and minimise fat gain.

For me personally, I cut out carbs to less than 50g per day and fat less than 30g per day. I prefer to keep weight training the same as you can gauge whether or not your losing muscle e.g. if your getting weaker. Yeh definately increase cardio, I'd start doing it now so you've got a good fitness level before you cut.
