Default Xcom - 06-04-2011, 08:01 PM

Anyone ever play this?

I think this might be my favourite game other than the Fallout series. Trying to get it to work undr XP using dosbox emulator but cant find the file to run after unzipping it to a folder from link below and accessing thru dos emulation. running xcom.exe just re-unpacks the game files into the directory. Any help would be sweeeet.

Download X-COM: UFO Defense | DOS Games Archive

currently installed dosbox .74 (latest)

They are actually bringing out a homebrew DOSBOX emulator for ps3 if you've got one with a custom firmware...

Never played the game you mention though

X-Com was and still is genius, Apocalypse is awesome too.

Not really looking forwards to the new fps.

Try: http://www.xcomufo.com/x1faq.html

That always helped me sort out my installation problems for all of the x-com series. As far as I'm aware Valve have a pre-configured version that you can get for around $5 which isn't much. Saves any faffing around with configs.

Yeeah thanks RLAJay thats workin nicely, seems the correct answer was dosbox .72. looking forward to many hours of xcellent gameplay, its still as good as ever. Told my mate that I spent my afternoon watchin videos of some drunk swedish guy playing UFO on Youtube and his response was 'DO not tell girls you did that!' lol I said 'no that info is for male geeks only' f-ing sweet game tho. Definitely the best of the series. The underwater one was almost as cool, as was apocalypse. The new xbox360 xcom looks shite tho. I wish theyd stay true to what was good in the previous versions. Cheers!

I'm perfectly open about my geeking. Proud of it!

It's not the things you do it's the way you present them. Show passion for things and a lack of caring about what others think and most people won't be negative about it.

40% of gamers are female now anyway and the average age of gamers is 35. It's not just a male or a kid thing anymore.
