Help! -

Guys, Let me know what you think.
I work with a company I’ve been with for 3 to 4 years, I started out as an apprentice going through the various departments, and ended up with a job in Sales. I’m doing my HND in electrical/electronic engineering, which finishes early June. They want to pay for me to complete a degree in September in Business and Management. They pay me 13.5k a year. The internal sales job isn’t on commission, and I don’t really cold call anyone or try and win business, its more about handling requests from existing customers and finding solutions to their problem.
Now a recruitment firm have called me after finding my CV on Monster, the company he wants to put me forward for work in my area (bonus), the role is Internal sales, but there are annual sales targets. They sell stuff like instrumentation to measure and monitor flow through pressure and humidity and all kinds of shit like that. I have really no experience in any of it, but they will provide training if I have some degree of technical competency. Theyre offerin MINIMUM 25k to possibly 30k starting, with annual 3k bonuses, and increase sales targets and stuff.
The recruitment guy wants me to send him an email about why I think I should be put forward for the job, why I want the job, why I like the business, why I would be suitable. I’m guna be honest. I feel fuckin nervous. I’ve never had sales targets before. I’ve never done any active selling over the phone or in person. I know I could probably do it, but my stomachs churning.
Anyways, this guy wants the email dropping to him this morning. Thing is, I don’t wana leave my current company, fuck things up and be skint. Also, it might lead to me not having the degree. But the money is like DOUBLE.
Do I go for it?

Go for it, put the worries to one side-- no harm in going for interviews etc-- then if you get offered the Job decide what you want to do

Yeah I was thinking more to the "do it" side.
This recruitment guy wants me to really sell myself on this email, and then sell myself in a phone interview with the employer next week..
Its about time I got some more money for all the efforts I put in.
And true, I can always do a degree later on, I've already done some courses with Open University soo..
Fuck it, I'm guna go for it!

Is it still legal to pay people £13.5k full-time?
Apply for the job, see what happens.
Peace,

I'm currently on 37.5 hrs a week, equates to about £7 an hour I think.

Well I sent him the email, and he is going to contact the employer to get me an interview (which will be via phone I think).
To avoid starting a new thread, anyone have any tips for phone interviews? Never had one before..
