Default Wanting EVERYTHING - 30-05-2011, 06:01 AM

Anyone ever feel like they just want EVERYTHING at one moment, with no cash to get anything?

There's so many things I want. I want an xbox 360. I want a brand new PC. I want all the newest latest tech gizmos and gadgets with all the best addons.

But I'm also trying to save all my cash for a house/new car.

I think its cos I've been up since 2am, started work at 4am, and feel shit.
I just don't even feel motivated to earn more cash when I probably could.

I just go on engadget news site, google news, expose myself to way too much media and it advertises all these brand new shiny amazing things and I'm like, ooooooo I want one !!!

But as soon as I get one thing, I want another thing better. I guess this is just a general rant.

I need to sort out my priorities, and my fitness, I just feel like I've let myself go so much in the past couple years.

It's consumerism my friend, culture and society tell you that you need these things!

Google the 100 item challenge and give it a whirl...

Haha true,

I actually feel a bit better after that rant now.

Also, I'm going to the gym at 12pm, which is good. I need to focus on getting generally fit rather than focusing on burning fat as you said earlier.

I can remember how pumped I used to feel after a good gym session!

I suggest looking up Battle of the superbrands on bbc. I believe a few episodes are up on iplayer at the moment. It's been a quite enlightening series on how everyone has become so brainwashed into wanting stuff stuff STUFF

This is an odd thought provoking statement..

As for my previous rant, I still find myself wanting everything. I still want all that stuff, whether it be stupid stuff or not, but the only difference is how much I want it today as opposed to yesterday?

This kinda reminds me of something my boss said yesterday:

"I'm always in the shit with my wife, it's just the depth that changes".

I guess we will ALWAYS want stuff.

To me, the distinction is when we project onto our possessions a role that they do not deserve, largely to satiate some other need within us. I enjoy nice things, but I don't want them to "own me" as suggested in Fight Club. Blueprint touches on this briefly too.
