Default eBook distribution - 01-06-2011, 02:40 PM

I’m thinking of writing an eBook on an area that’s not covered very well by mainstream PUA and was wondering if anyone had knowledge of a decent medium for this.

I think I could manage with marketing it but not sure how to distribute it.

Anyone, who says upload to a torrent site can fuck off.

I’m happy for it to end up on piratebay eventually, but I would like to make a bit before that happens.

The three distribution methods, I’m looking at are:

Download from website, providing its getting hits I see this as the best option.

Sold through Amazon eBook store. Not sure how this works.

Turned into an app and sold through iTunes store. I’m thinking the cost associated with turning it into an app makes it a higher risk.

Does anyone know any more options or the plus’s and minus’s of the above, I’ve missed.

Cheers

Yeh I'm thinking website seems easiiest as well.

It in its various fomats at the moment pdf, word, notepad, a4 ruled, a4 unruled, iphone notes, beer mat and scraps of paper.

I'm not out sarging so should be able to get on with it now and have it finished, in a month. I'll notify anyone who's interested in 6 months don't want you bunch of pirates passing it round like a joint until I've covered costs and made a few quid.

Knave, how much you thinking of charging? If its a good price, you never know, you might be marketing it to an entire forum of PUAers here willing to fork a few quid for it

And I like the idea of multiple formats. Draws more visitors to the site also

Use Clickbank. I used it in the past as an affliate. It is a very good site to distribute your ebook.

Knave, do not knock the torrent sites. People that torrent something weren't potential customers in the first place, the people that will buy your product will buy it regardless of it being on a torrent site or not.

Your product being on a torrent site however does help spread knowledge of the product, people read it for free and discuss it on forums and the like, informing potential buying customers of it's existence.

Many people will buy a product regardless of the knowledge that they can get it for free. Many people that torrent a product later buy things after genuinely liking it.

The fight against piracy fails to embrace it and build new models of selling around it. In order to offer something better than piracy can offer consider an interactive section accessible online through registration and confirmation online through unique sales codes.

Sell hard copies opposed to ebooks if it really bothers you that much. It takes a good month or so for hard copies to end up online, someone has to be really motivated to bother with it.

two weeks ago, you plagarised from an ebook by copy and pasting content from it onto the forum

now you look to create an ebook and criticise anyone who might pirate it

I don't get it, it doesn't seem to be a consistent viewpoint or am I missing something?

I honestly thought Rebus was just kidding when talking about the plagarising in the other thread!! I didn't think you were serious lol.

Perhaps we should encorporate the harvard referencing system here :P
