Default NatWest Vs HSBC current account - 20-10-2011, 04:34 PM

Hey guys, Im with HSBC at the moment. Don't have any complains what so ever. But im thinking of upgrading my account just to get some extra benefits. I compared both accounts and it seems like NatWest advance account has lots of benefits such as iPhone insurance, travel insurance, breakdown cover and also NatWest is the only bank which has an iPhone app. Im actually considering to transfer to NatWest. Has anyone of you know any better current account options or bank with NatWest? Cheers in advance.

Natwest do that code so you can get cash out if you lose your card too...

The only bank I would feel happy to recommend not to be total cunts would be the co-op. The're the only big bank not bound to increase profits for shareholders, have the highest customer service ranking of all the big banks and only invest ethically, which no other big bank does. Plus they've just started a deal a few days ago where they give you £200 for transferring over and are the most likely candidates to take over the lloyds branches one they get sold of, so should have much bigger high street presence in the near future.

Im looking at changing my current accounts to Santander - they have a good offer on at the moment, they give you £100 and dont charge you for going into your overdraft

NatWest have good rates but are incredibly incompetent.
I have first hand experience with employees making huge cockups in just about every branch I have had dealings with. I don't think they train their staff at all and their internal communication is horrendous.

I was worried about that, i never had first hand experience with Natwest myself. Santander and Llyods TSB are the next one im looking in to. Only thing about Co-op which puts me off is that they don't have i phone banking app.

My workplace blocked Barclays online banking.
So I use Opera web browser on my phone.
WIN

Edit:

Barclays fucking sucks.
I'm going back to Lloyds TSB

Having an iPhone app is just an extra feature, my decision will not be purely based on that. Llyods gold account seems like the best option.

I knew I'd read it somewhere. It isn't the exact article as it's only about savings.

First Direct are apparently one of the best banks around. Really helpful. If you do need to call them with a problem they even reimburse you the cost of the call!
