Default Lucid Dreams - 11-08-2010, 07:42 PM

Has anyone ever had a lucid dream?
I have had two or three. Only one lasted longer than a moment, as my brain managed to wake me up as soon as I realised I was dreaming the second time.

I'm downloading this baby, hopefully I'll be able to make them happen:
School of Lucid Dreaming. A Practical Guidebook (download torrent) - TPB

More info on lucid dreams here:

I had one. The most creative thing I could think of to do was throw a brick through a post office window. Became over excited with my "awareness" then woke up. Lasted about 20 seconds.

I've tried my hardest to train myself to become lucid but its damn fucking difficult to do.

I've done it a couple of times. The best one being where I was on a road, became lucid and thought what could I do. I decided to throw an airliner in to the sky which was driving past. Then had various shoppers in Debenhams suck my cock.

Your best bet is to wake up a few hours before normal, do something for an hour or so and then go back to sleep. Thats when it usually happens to me.

Also watch Waking Life. It has alot about lucid dreaming in it as well as being a fucking great philosophical film.

Waking Life is genius.

I'm not interested in lucid dreaming though, in fact I'd prefer not to dream at all.

It's only technique in its conjunction with meaningfulness that you get a work of art

A few things.
When I remember a dream I feel cheated out of brain rest. (Is that a bit crazy?)
If they're bad, obviously that isn't pleasant.
If they're good, it's disappointing when they turn out not to be real.
I especially dislike the rare occasions that I dream about work, I feel I should get paid for my time when they invade my sleep.
Also, because I'm odd.

Thankfully, if you get high, you rarely dream or at least you rarely have any recollection of dreaming. I don't know enough about it to say which it is. Either is fine by me, ostensibly they are the same.

Peace,

kowalski

I had a couple of dreams go lucid where i tried to bang a random dream whore before i woke up.
Mostly i get sleep paralysis which is fucked up.

Also i get high every evening and dream like theres no tomorrow, i guess i'm the exception.

When in doubt, do it anyway!

I had lucid dreams couple of times.

The easiest way:
-print 5 pages from wikipedia about LD
-Go to sleep at 10
-Set up alarm at 3
-when you switch off alarm read 5 pages
-go to sleep again wishing to be concious in dream

To remember dreams write down every morning every dream you had. After a week I could remember 5 long dreams in the morning with so many fucking small details!

In dreams try to see the time. If the time is weird like: 28:94 you can become aware of dream. If the time is 16:15, but you look at watch again and it's 12:13 you can also realize it's a dream.

Just before sleep watch "waking life" and then read wikipedia article about LD. Just having contact with LD knowledge can result in you having LD

My friend who didn't knew a shit about LD joined me in my room when I was watching it and next day he was very excited because he had LD(he was fucking hot bitch with big tits of course)!

Beware if you have mental problems because there are people in danger of schisophrenia, and by doing LD they may stop realising what's true and what's dream. Like thinking in real life that it's a dream may be serious threat.

@ kowalski:
Yeah man I always dream about work. In fact only last night I dreamed I was working. There is nothing more soul destroying than dreaming software development then waking to realise you have wasted a nights sleep. It's because I work up until I go to bed most nights. I know I shouldn't.

I can relate to these two. I used to get some pretty horrific nighmares, and still do occasionally, to the point where it would leave me feeling bummed out for the rest of the day. Also, back in my complete chode days, I would dream of having sexy times with my perfect woman, and then when I woke up I would nearly start crying (dont tell anyone though!)

I'm not too sure that i would want to have a go at this. I'm more a fan of reality than, err, non reality.
