As title really, can I have a simple or complex explanation on use of NLP in the realms of pick-up. I believe I have got completely the wrong end of the stick in regards to it.

It's either used for self-development. To deal with issues relating to anxiety, self-image etc.

Or it is used to seduce. Eliciting good emotion and connecting it to yourself, eliciting bad emotion and relating it to your absence.

Most people are cool with the self-development side.

There is debate about the morality of the seduction side.

There is also debate over it's effectiveness. It is a psuedo-science and as such lacks experimental evidence and despite it's title has no ground in neurology.

I'll take a look at Jefferies too.

My misunderstanding was I didn't realise it could be used to "better" yourself too. Is the Pavlovs dog experiments considered a form of NLP?
