The Right Brain vs Left Brain | The Daily Telegraph

I can only see this clockwise. No matter how much I concentrate, or flick off then on to the screen, or re-focus. I'm one clockwise mo' fo'.

Here is the breakdown:

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

There are a few things in there I sould agree with. However, logic and philosophy as seperate things?!? What the fuck? Logic is philosophy.

What do you see?

Peace,

kowalski

I also had a bash at this questionaire, which I answered 5 as right brain and 13 as left brain.

So pretty much the opposite result. I'm intrigued. Further research shall be done.

Hemispheric Dominance Test determine if your left or right brain hemisphere is dominant

Hmmm me too for clockwise,

I cannot see how it can go the other way...

However that said I believe that I'm very logical over the other functions

Oh and right side for the test

This interesting wiki article says that, as often happens, the pop psychology interpretations of the research into brain function lateralisation are over-simplifications.

It is a theory (well respected one) that this is the case, but whatever is prosessed in either hemisphere, is joined tongether by the corpus callosum, and so "right brain functions" can also be performed by the left and vice versa - as has been displayed in many experiments on brain damaged patients.

That's enough knowledge for today

I've used this book before and some of the stuff in it's pretty good it actually works

Learn to Draw: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.

The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain: Amazon.co.uk: Betty Edwards: Books

You might want to use it for the draw off you're gonna have eventually K

Ritz isn't that more the case of your brain adapting after it's had trauma?

Even if it isn't to do with which side I think there is a battle between the logical and spatial parts of your brain, I came to this from doing the drawing exercises in Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.
There is one which asks you to copy a image then turn it upside down and copy it. The upside down one is much more accurate because your logical side can't recognise it so it leaves it to the spacial side.

I think this is why a lot of people can't draw very well because the logical side takes over.

The Right Brain vs Left Brain | The Daily Telegraph

That woman spinning is really freaky I looked at it a bit going anti clockwise then it snapped the other way round and now I can only see it going clockwise and I got this really confused feeling like it snapped something in my brain. I think that's the logical part freaking out
