Default Passive aggressive and an open mind. - 22-03-2010, 06:33 AM

Passive agressive:

Passive–aggressive behavior (negative personality trait) is passive, sometimes obstructionist resistance to following through with expectations in interpersonal or occupational situations.

It is a personality trait marked by a pervasive pattern of negative attitudes and passive, usually disavowed resistance in interpersonal or occupational situations.

is the green i see the same as the green you see..

Dude that is actually just opening section of the wiki article on passive aggression. I'm assuming you meant to write more but had some kind of PC failure.

TF,
It doesn't matter because language is public so we all refer to it as green and there is no way to go beyond that.

Check out his Philosophical Investigations, pure genius.

I assume the original post was aimed at me.

For background, the poster claims to be a 'teacher' of pick up who wishes to start a company and make money out of it, and for the last 5 weeks I've been spending time in the field with him, and a small group of genuinely good fellers in Liverpool.

It has since become clear I disagree fundamentally with the original poster's 'teaching methods', the basis of his (largely unquestioned) authority in the Liverpool community, the principle he pursues that he should have sole executive power over who is allowed in and out of that community (any new people must go through and pass a 'consultation' before being allowed to join in), and that I further disagree with many of the things he says (and if I don't disagree - much of the time I haven't a clue what he's talking about).

He has chosen to dismiss this as me being 'passive aggressive' and has dismissed my rejection of some of his methods and ideas as a lack of an open mind, although I'm not sure he fully understands the implications of passive aggressive behaviour. It just sounds good.

I will let other people decide for themselves as to whether his is an accurate observation or not - that isn't a judgement for me to make. But it isn't an attribute I recognise in myself.

For what its worth - we have built a whole society on the basis that all authority is contingent, can be questioned and held to account, and always challenged. Further, those in authority must accept this principle, and thus accept that they must be robust. They must accept challenges to their authority with considered response, not with the isolation of the critic.

When we abandon that principle, we enter the realm of authoritarianism - which leads to a cult of personality to a single authority, unquestioning acceptance of all one is told regardless of how much it conflicts with what one's own eyes are telling you, and suppression, rejection and isolation of anyone who disagrees, along with the distortion of their views to support the basis of that rejection.

I appeal to everyone in the pick up community to be questioning of absolutely everything you read, see and hear, to search for inconsistencies, and to not be afraid to act upon them when you locate them. This approach must be present in every aspect of life, as much as in pick up.

No-one has all the answers. Be acutely aware of anyone claiming too.

That's all I have to say on this subject. I didn't want to bring this stuff into the open - I don't make a habit of washing my dirty linen in public. I am disappointed that I had too on this occasion. But if I see something like this, which my best judgement tells me is aimed at me (and lets face it - this is pretty thinly veiled), I can't just sit still and not respond.

I have now done so, made my point, and will not post further on this thread. The original poster, and anyone else, are free to disagree with me if they wish to do so.

Just get on with it please

Dude,

I very much warmed to you, as I think we all did here, right from the attitude and personality that comes across in your posts. After meeting you on Friday, and spending some time getting to know you at my pad, I think you're a cool, interesting, friendly, intelligent guy.

I also thought your reply in this thread was well argued, delivered without malice and is a great example to me particularly as I can be quick to anger sometimes and don't think I would have responded so calmly. Very commendable.

On the other hand I find the OP to be passive aggressive. The OP doesn't make any sense, it is merely an extract of a wiki article copied and pasted onto the forum with a hidden agenda and is delivered with no explanation whatsoever. This is not what the forum is for. His passive aggressive follow up response didn't help his cause much either.

We all love you OO, even though you are a scouser.

Peace,

kowalski

That post was made on three different forums.

Thats enough to make all 4 million words look passive agressive.

To the other guys, thanks for keeping an open mind.

An open mind about what? You haven't said anything.

Seems like you've come down to have a pop at a well respected poster, because he won't do things your way.
