So, does anyone have any weird or wonderful items or things that they use for peacocking that work particularly well?

Personally, I have a few little bits, mainly

1) Hats. Obsessed with them at the moment. Trilby, bowler, whatever... my top hat generates a SERIOUS amount of attention in a club, but you have to watch out else some fucker will be off with it.

2) Fingernails. I paint the little and ring finger on my left hand black at all times. I just like the way it looks and people do ask my about it a lot.

3) Plectrum necklace. I play guitar in a band so it's a good DHV for building on that.

4) Jewelry. I probably wear too much to be honest. Got loads of the stuff. Colourful bracelets, beads, a black ring in the shape of a fox and even shag bands (when someone mentions them I say "don't break it else you know what has to happen" and give them a cheeky smile. I've f-closed all three people that ever broke one)

That's about it really. Sometimes go for them all, sometimes I don't, depends on the venue of choice.

Anyone else got anything out of the ordinary or that they'd recommend?

Well me and some mates went out on NYE suited and booted and it definetely works to stand out.

I went out wearing a peacock the other week.

Got attacked by animal rights activists.

Peacocking doesn't work.

Peacocking works, just don't take it to the extreme.

Things that are cool, but not over the top:
Funky shades
wristbands
nail polish
Tie but no shirt (my favorite)
t shirt with a really cool print, like a top less claudia schiffer with a suit jacket on top (Ali does this regularly and gets opened 24/7 over it)

It works in the sense that any interesting item gets people to open you. I just tend to dress extremely well. I have done most of my life; I call it mecocking. But that alone is not enough to get women.

I got nothing against people who want to peacock! Personally I just can't be arsed, I will wear what I want for me and no one else. If you think about it its kinda being supplicative because you want a reaction from dressing in a crazy way. Sure you may get girls approaching you, puling ur scarft, your goggles, false moustache, whatever and although it does demonstrate confidence, its not the be all and end all of meeting women.

Hell I have gone out and picked up women after I've been to the gym or done some daygame after my weekend job which requires me to wear very casual clothes but with a work t shirt.

I remember when I used to go out with my friends I would look totally sharp then I'd see all these guy wearing tracksuit bottoms, ripped jeans with really gorgeous girlfriends. You got to ask yourself do the accessories and the clothes make you cool or are you cool because you have a strong belief in yourself. Think about it, if you are confident and totally comfortable with yourself why the hell does it matter what you freaking wear? Because you can make whatever you wear cool because you are cool.

You are not the clothes you wear! Must be very validating for guys to get approached by women and if you're peacocking only for that reason, so women can approach you, then maybe you're not as confident as you think, maybe you have some things to work on. I'm not saying it doesn't work but its just a Pick up gimmick just like 'The Cube'.

I have known other wings of mine who wear accessories so they will get noticed such as one guy I know has this little microphone medalian but I swear to God, all the girls he has opened has never commented on it or opened him on it as its too small to see.

I love to dress up but I don;t do it for other people. At work one time I dressed up as James Bond and a few years ago I went to Murder Mystery Evening in the theme of James Bond. My female friends were Bond girls and we were all in costume. We didn;t do it for approval but because it was bloody fun!

How about just going out wearing really casual clothes, jeans, plain t shirt or wearing something you wore years ago and seeing if you cna make that cool again?

If you want to wear crazy stuff, do it because you want to not because you're buying into the whole PUA commerciality that says if you do this you will get this reaction blah blah blah!

Maybe you'll get noticed if you walk in confidently just being your better self without any pretentions and heaven forbid, a girl may actually like you for you!

Well I wear the stuff because I like the way it looks - it's all stuff I wore before ever hearing about PU - it just so happens to be good for peacocking too. Double win

Yeah mate, me too. I've always been a snazzy dresser. I just love looking in the reflection of a shop window and feeling like a million dollars.

Some days I'll just throw on an old pair of jeans and t-shirt though. I can even go out and pull like that. I don't hide behind clothes, I just like them.

I think it was one of the Kray twins that said, "Clothes make a man." Utter shite. Just the kind of thing you would expect to hear from a gangster. Still, they were nice to their mum though.
