Default Transition after opener..the 'natural' way - 02-03-2011, 08:43 PM

Guys, I know many of you are proponents of the direct approach, and after trying the indirect route a little bit (I'm a noob) think I would also prefer to be direct is most cases.

However, after opening direct, I have no idea of where to go from there! After a few mins I'm sure I'll be fine in keeping a convo going, it's just that the transition from opener will be hard for me.

Anyone have any tips? Is there a pattern or structure you seem to follow that works? Don't need anything word for word, but any tips on getting going from there? Anything observational would probably work I've read, but if there's nothing worth commenting on....?

Cheers in advance!

Even if you are direct, you should still tease her a little bit and keep it playfull. the convo in the beginning doesnt have to be about where she works or her hobbies and the usuals "job application" questions. Instead it could go somthing like.

- Hi, i saw you from over there and i wanted to meet you.

- Oh, well , hi . Alternative : why did you wanna meet me? ( Incase shes a paranoid mother F )

- (So) you seem like the type of girl who X ( put in a cold reading based on your impression of her, in this scenario, lets say that X = Wild)

- Oh well yes that is true, i am pretty wild, (or) no that is not true.

- yeah i could se that from a mile away, i like that kinda stuff in a girl. Have you every gone bungy jumping?

ETC ETC... you get the idea

Also remember, if you choose to go direct, You are verbally beeing very pully and saying pully things so keep your body language relaxed and lean AWAY from her so the rest of you says push. Keep a balance or she will think of you as beeing very clingy.

Or, don't worry about body language or anything and just tell her you think she's pretty and you had to come see what she was all about. Exchange names, tell her something about yourself - what you're up to, what you did yesterday, what you bought your sister for her birthday, whatever. If the worst comes to the worst, ask her something you want to know about her - where she grew up, what she'd do if she won the lottery, what her favourite pet is.

If she's worth talking to, she'll reciprocate.

It's just advice, fellas. Do whatever the FUCK you wanna do

If you're having trouble go for something simple, you've just complimented her and told her you saw her across the room, saw how pretty she is and had to talk to her... Pick something else out about her and roll from there, eyes, jewellery she's wearing whatever, use that as a conversation starting point and roll forwards into a story of your own that's relative to whatever you brought up to draw her in.

Don't talk too long and keep it fun - you need her to invest in the interaction.

Well if you're going in with that super-confidence it doesn't really matter what the other guys said, or even what you say - you WILL be different.

I can see the summit of the mountain, but also the dark forest in front and the long and winding path to the top. I'm sure many a person here has followed, or is following that path.

Different does not equal good.

It is not necessary to be different.

Difference should be an expression not a choice. Different because you are not to create a juxtaposition.

Thanks for all the input guys.
Flamma, that is really useful thanks, definitely what I was looking for. Sry guys I'm gonna side with Flamma lol. From my small amount experience and from general 'game' concepts I've read, going direct could be good, but everything has to be done in a non-needy way. As Flamma eluded to - honest and upfront, but not clingy.

I like the pebbles, cheers legend.
