im wonderin if this has hapened to me before, maybe im far to lax in my show of interest that some girls think im winding them up???

I don't think so Phil.. Making a date/time to see each other etc is a clear sign of at least a little interest to even the most socially retarded. The fact that you teased/played with her does not explain ignoring your texts/calls at all.

I'd hypothesize the more likely scenario is that she was distracted by someone else at the time and now she's not and is coming back round to you because that person has gone.

I agree with Jay, besides it ultimately worked, that reckless style where the girls aren't sure is powerful, for fucks sake don't start doubting it now!

Last place i worked was a really cute blonde -- i loved having a banter with her. I fancied her and offered to take her out a few times and she denied me.

Well after 4 years it was her last day at work and we had a chat and she told me she thought i didnt like her all this time and i was trying to make fun of her by asking her out.

I was genuinely shocked at how my behaviour was coming across.

Yes when i was 23 i used to podium dance in night clubs -- one saturday, 2 girls where watching me and saying to each other ' what a dick he is, loves himself' etc etc

Saturday after one of them was back on a night out and i ended up dancing with 10 girls in a group-- 1 of them was her.
she singled me out afterwards--we chatted flirted, kissed and i had a one night stand with her (she was totally sober as was driving)

she turned out to be my girlfriend of 10 years...

So basically, everyones full of shit with stupid realities.. somthing like that

actually, The reason she did that was she clearly thought you out of her league,

embarrased by the fact she was afraid to talk to you, and had no way of approach... she made an excuse... HE LOVES HIMSELF...
