Most girls write stupid shit on facebook - blatant attention seeking.

There is one girl on there who I went uni with. Writes an "update" every half hour. Like the most insignificant shit you could imagine, stuff like "just had a brew! love it!". What STAGGERS me is the fact it will then say "ten people like this"? I mean talk about reinforcing this bullshit. She must think she is some sort of celebrity on twitter or something. It is both annoying and perplexing but I guess to her it is like some sort of compliments methadone clinic.

Jaz this is a great point... warms to the theme of -- as k mentioned elsewhere -- half of everyone is below average.

Facebook and Twitter has a wide range of disparate users, including offering plenty of amusement to the superficial crowd who rely almost entirely on other's validation.

Such people have nothing important nor useful to say.

At this moment in time, there is a $90 billion valuation of Facebook and $10 billion valuation of Twitter.

How many of these 100 billion dollars are derived from company value created by the frequent visits of half-wits (OK, quarter-wits) to these sites? In business, if u can make money off the idiots, then do it. They are certainly achieving phenomenal valuations pre-IPO.
