Dating sites exist in a continuum of sex/shortterm/casual <---> romance/long term/serious theme. Now generally the more sex/shortterm oriented the site is the more men and the less women it will attract, the opposite being true for the more "serious" dating sites.

Any overt sex/contact type site, the biggest being "adult friend finder" will usually have 10 to 20 men for every woman and of those women only a fraction will be decent looking. So the reality is that you arn't going to get shags from hot girls on such a sites unless your extremely good looking because they can afford to be very picky. I only ever had one shag from such a site despite generally being a master at online game and being reasonably decent looking.

In short even if its not a scam you will be wasting your cash.
