This word has been used a lot in self help literature. It is the core behind a person's identity and reality. I never quiet understand what does it mean? Would like to know what it mean to you?

Take a step back - look at yourself and who you are in the 3rd person - realise that:
YOU ARE A FUCKING GREAT PERSON
recognise all your good qualities and realise that there are some total muppets out there (jackal et al)
realise that some girl is lucky to have YOU in her life

dont EVER let anyone make you feel like second best, if they do tell them its unnacceptable and/or walk away

On a serious note, the girls i found attractive sometime are the one who are not the best looking girls but they are educated, polite and confident. Can these 3 be classed as values?

i think value is being confident in yourself to be different.

and doing what you want for you & not for someone else's benefit.

Value = Relative worth, merit or importance

People base their decisions on value, value informs someone when to sick with their current situation or to gamble for a better situation.

Value is a complex concept. You might have 10p and have the opportunity to double your money, but there is a 50% chance you may end up with nothing. Any, and all, known associated contingencies are constituents of the final value judgement.

Value is a relative concept. Which is more valuable a glass of water or a thousand pounds? That obviously depends on how thirsty the person offered the choice is, how abundant each is etc.


Individuals will judge value individually, though there are general trends. There is nothing you can do to guarantee your value will go up or down according to a specific other, though you can do things that will guarantee that your compound value (i.e. your value if you added the value judgements of everyone about you together) will go up our down. When people say x is higher value than y, they are either simply making a personal judgement or, more often on forums like this one, making an appeal to these general trends of value.

So the question you need to answer that determines how you pursue value is on what do you want your judgement of your own value to be founded?

1. In the judgement of a specific Other.
2. In the judgement of the general trends of all Others.
3. In the judgement of the self-as-other.

1. Is unknowable, external and inauthentic.
2. Is knowable, external and inauthentic.
3. Is knowable, internal and authentic.


In the form of a simple example:

1. Hot girl says "I like pink shoes", you say "Me too" whether you do or not. She may go for this, or she may not. Her liking pink shoes does not mean she will also like you for liking pink shoes too (also maybe she is lying etc.).

2. PUA course guide says "Get buff, girls like buff guys", you get buff whether you prefer your current build or not. Your general value to the average girl will increase. Any specific girl may judge you as having more or less value because of your new-buffness, for some more for others less.

3. You do things that, if an Other did them you, using your own set of values you would judge them as having increased value.


You can't guarantee you will get what you want no matter what you do to try and achieve it. You can guarantee you can live happily with yourself by behaving according to 3. (assuming a number of other qualities like Aristotle's polis or Quine-esque holism of truth).
