Hustler's sig always makes me wonder why he's here.
Anywho, yes presence is pretty much everything. Ask yourself why you are so cool in the training room but not in other areas of your life. At work you have been put in a leadership role. It is not real. There is nothing that actually changes within you when you walk through that door.
You feel in the training room that you have been given permission to be this awesome guy. However, no-one can really give you permission to be awesome except yourself. Even if I tell you now to go be awesome, you still decide whether you are going to actually be awesome or not.
Thing is you know how to be a cool fucker. You do it everyday when you walk through the training room door. You think it has something to do with that door? That room? Those things are nothing, they can't touch you. The room is meaningless. You give yourself permission to be that cool fucker. Give yourself permission all the time.
There's a piece in The Blueprint where Tyler talks about all the instructions you have inside you. Instructions on how to be the dutiful son, the angry complainer, the helpfull customer service employee and, yes, the cool fucker.
He says you should think of it like flying a plane. You have the instructions but your brain won't give you access to them so just tell your brain 'I'm gonna fly this plane anyway. So you either give me the instructions or we are going to crash'. Then just go for it. Your brain will eventually give you the instructions unrestrictedly, so that you can access them whenever you need them. Not just when you walk through a meaningless door at work.
