Review
Improv's a night that Kowalski set up where we play comedy improv games to get you thinking from the top of your head.

Examples of some of the games....

I love you but I just can't smile

Someone sits in a seat and everyone tries to make them laugh or smile the person in the chair can only say "I love you but I just can't smile" (although we are a bit lenient on this). If they laugh or smile they change with the person who made them laugh or smile.

Change!

2 people act out a scene and people shout out change then they have to change what they are saying. For example "i like cheese" CHANGE! "I hate cheese" CHANGE! "I hate your mother"
The change is used to try and get you to say something completely random and non related then run with it and adapt the scene.

Question game (might have a different name but I can't remember)

Two people can only talk in questions and hesitation or repetition result in the person losing and being replaced with someone else.

Rating (out of 5) 5/5

It's a right laugh and it helps a lot with saying the first thing that comes into your head. It'll make you better with the ladies as you can think on your feet, think who's line is it anyway but dirtier.

Also it's dirt cheap and a good way to meet and get to know new people

"Is it wrong for a man to love his guitar?"

"It is if he puts his balls between the strings, and strums himself to ecstasy!"

First ever 5/5 full marks review.

AWESOME!!!

All are welcome. It is not run for profit either. The price is merely to cover the cost of the room.

If you have not been, come.

If you have been, come again.

Peace,

kowalski

Where abouts are you? You could always come up for a thursday and go out on the weekend too with the manchester guys. It would be like a free bootcamp.

Or if you're near bristol when the bristol boys finally sort something out, we could go down, improv and go out.

Or Hustler set up his own improv night!

I'm down in Brighton so am too far from any of the locations, just to pop over for the class.
I think i will definitely look to do a long weekend in Manchester, if you'll have me!
I would look to do it over the last weekend in November!

One big thing about Improv for me is that it’s the perfect way to get introduced into the community. Personally for me, its thanks to Improv that I have met so many cool people… and it is since meeting so many cool people that my game has improved.

For a person just getting into the community, it can be extremely intimidating meeting fellow “PUA’s” on a night out, since the initial perception can be warped – you see all these other guys at surface value, not really knowing what they are really like, assume they are just out to approach women, and that that is the only thing you should be doing too. It’s hard to gain rapport with someone in these circumstances.

Improv, on the other hand, gives you the perfect opportunity to meet like minded people. You are immediately thrust into a very supportive, relaxed environment. Everyone is laughing and having fun, and it is very difficult not to get sucked in. Laughter is contagious! You’re given the time and opportunity to really get to know people, and thus make plenty of friends. From there it is easier to get out there and meet women. I don’t believe there are many lairs with a group of people as close to each other as we all seem to be.

This may be one of the reasons why the guys on the “other” lair don’t seem to have as much fun as us? Only a suggestion…

Power Steve, yea I definitely agree it is one of the reasons.

Improv, wherever it is, binds people in the act of comedy and humor, whilst proving a really beneficial impact on the individuals. You'll find yourself becoming more confident, creative and spontaneous.

p.s. If you've never tried this night then totally do! Get down there the next Thursday! XD
